AltanovaPress is an artistic analog records manufacturer in East POLAND, Lublin, dedicated to experimental and independent music.
AltanovaPress promotes modern plastic technologies combined with old analog low-quality recordings (Lo-Fi).
AltanovaPress does not use advanced technologies during sound recording, for example, the unique proces promote audio recorded on a wax mother & then each plate is produced by hand. Similar techniques were used 100 years ago, or so, during the first attempts to reproduce and multiply sound.
As a result of such creation, the record is astonishingly original, and the sound is unique, with a warm, rich crackling noise.
In the context of our times almost exclusively dominated by digital technology and microprocessors, hardly anyone remembers the full charm of the first analogs recording defects, which after all did not prevent our grandparents from enjoying the music.
But there is a point where the past fuses with the future. This is due to a polycaprolactone, modern plastic, which is used for the plates. The polymer from the future holds (for plastic) unusual features. It is biodegradable and eco-friendly.
It is yet another amazing feature. In the temperature of 70 ͦ Celsius, becomes plasticized as wax.
AltanovaPress is a creative combination of a delightfully simple technique, with very best achievements of modern polymer technology.
So this is how is born the unique & carefully tuned (Lo-Fi) sound.
Each disc is unique just like an art object using noble-speaking media, copied by hand from the copper matrix, similar as the Albrecht Dürer copper engravings and has its authentic value.
